Team structure:
The Regional EU Finance Controlling Team is an international team spread across Lisbon and Krakow focusing on EU regional Cost Controlling and NWC activities. Akos Keresztesi, Senior Reporting & Analysis Analyst, is our master of RRP Commercial Spend reporting, Marcin Kurek, Senior Analyst FC, is driving Conventional and Overhead Cost deep dives, Aleksandra Christ-Laska, Senior Analyst FC keeps an eye on all NWC developments across EU region, Sylwia Kalisz, Manager Finance Controlling, is guiding, and leading the team to reach its utmost potential. Felix Schell, Head of Finance Controlling EU, is connecting Finance Controlling market teams with EU region to one team.
Project details:
The Regional EU Finance Controlling Team has just recently taken over the full regional net working capital consolidation and validation as well as regional cost controlling part. The team has seamlessly integrated with both CoE as well as EU Regional Team and is taking over full ownership of the entire cost base and all NWC & BS submissions.
One great example is how the team has led the regional G&A OB reviews with the central functions. The team has dissected the costs into several dimensions making sure that PMI is meeting its gross saving target in line with SP5. During OB’22 the team has done several cost deep dives, which created a very good understanding where resources are allocated and how efficiencies are created. One concrete example is an analysis of vacancies across EU Region where cost savings in the magnitude of $5-10 mio were identified.
In the area of RRP by working closely with different stakeholders (central teams, markets and Business Solutions teams) we create a deep understanding of RRP Commercial Spend and New Commercial Engine. Leveraging on technology such as PowerBI we dissect RRP spend, evaluate ROI to identify best practices, cost saving, and making the right investment decisions. This way we achieve our Cost per User targets year-on-year.
The team is consolidating Net Working Capital proposals across all EU markets with completely different business models and local regulations. The team is even going beyond consolidation, challenging market inputs, and liaising with supply chain to ensure capacity for production is available. Ultimately the team is optimizing cash position for PMI ensuring that at the same time production needs as well as market demand for Stock Build Ups are satisfied. This is making a real impact on PMI business.
On a monthly basis the team is closely monitoring both the spending as well as net working capital situation in EU Region, highlighting potential deviations versus latest forecasts. This enables PMI to deliver upon its quarterly EPS targets.
